This has been affirmed by media experts during the first session of the 11th Arab Media Forum which started in Dubai on Tuesday. The panellists talked about the steep rise in social media penetration that has brought in an era of multi-faceted journalism.
The workshop examined the possibility for media to participate in the cultural development of young people, improve their overall awareness, power of discretion and capacity for evaluating and selecting newsworthy content. With the large young population utilising social media for the exchange of information, the fear is that they will lose sight of their values as well as the ethics of journalism....................
