A string of events within Iran has left Tehran bracing for outside military attacks.
Con Coughlin at The Telegraph reported yesterday that General Mohammed Ali Jaafari, commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards elevated the guards readiness in preparation for outside attacks or strikes.
Image: iran.usembassy.govThe reaction follows last month's blast at an Iranian military base and Sunday's announcement that Tehran brought down an advanced U.S. RQ-170 Sentinel drone.
These two events combined with the assassinations of Iran's nuclear scientists, and the invasion of the Stuxnet virus into Iran's nuclear plant, prompted Patrick Clawson of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy to tell the Los Angeles Times “It looks like the 21st century form of war. It does appear that there is a campaign of assassinations and cyber war, as well as the semi-acknowledged campaign of sabotage.”
